8th Grade  We Are Leaders!

Called to Serve

During their 8th grade year, with Jesus as their perfect example, students venture beyond the service learning offered to all students at Queen of All Saints. Eighth graders research and seek their own opportunities to serve in our local community. Prior to Gradutaion, students present their service projects on a detailed display board and share their experience with their classmates, including challenges and growth.

Class of 2018

As we reunite in the fall, we use the democratic process to select our Class Shirt. Pictured below, students proudly display the "winner" for the Class of 2018...Merlot!

With such privilege comes great responsibility, as 8th-grade students are called to set a positive example and lead the students of QAS in the classroom, hallways, on the playground, and in church.

Student Government

At the end of their 6th and 7th grade years, students may run for an office in our QAS Student Government. They conduct a full campaign, obtaining signatures of support from students in grades 4-8, selecting an office that suits their personality and strengths, and displaying campaign posters around the school. Students present speeches to the entire student body and teachers, followed by a primary and final election. Each year we have 30+ students serving as leaders in Student Government.

Student-led activities take place throughout the year such as rallies, parades, our school talent show, field day, and prayer services.

High School Preparedness Retreat @ San Damiano

Mrs. Ogden takes her 8th graders to one of her favorite places for their final class field trip, San Damiano Retreat in the Danville hills. Students enjoy group challenges and have discussions about the concerns and excitement about the road ahead. Many students have attended QAS since Kindergarten or 1st Grade, and realize they will soon be leaving their "second home." This special day ends in the chapel with a guided meditation prayer and offering thanks to God, asking Him for continued guidance for the high school journey ahead.
